
Park Ji Yeon is receiving major attention for her role as “Woo Jin’s mom” in Netflix’s hit series “Teach You a Lesson”.
In episode 5, Park Ji Yeon played an overprotective parent who constantly causes trouble for her son’s homeroom teacher.
Her intense acting and memorable line, “My child’s father is very angry,” quickly became a hot topic among viewers.
During a recent interview, Park Ji Yeon shared how much her daily life has changed since the episode aired. She said, “I saw people leaving comments on SNS and making memes. I can feel that I am receiving huge support”. She added, “This is the first time something like this has happened, so I feel dazed”.
The actress also revealed that people have started recognizing her in public. She said those around her suggested that she wear a mask because of her character, but even then, some people still notice her.
She laughed and shared that people often look surprised at first, but most tell her they enjoyed watching her performance.
Park Ji Yeon also talked about the sudden flood of SNS activity. She said, “Actually, they were always turned on, but they rang so much that my husband turned them off”.
She explained that she kept checking her phone because friends and people around her were sending links and messages, making it hard for her to focus on scripts for a few days.
Her SNS followers also grew quickly. Park Ji Yeon said, “I originally had 12,000 followers, but now I have 35,000. It increased by three times.” She added that many viewers are leaving comments on her page as if they are joining in on the drama’s SNS scene.
The actress also became emotional while talking about the support from fellow actors. She shared that many people have contacted her to congratulate her, including actress Lee Jung Eun, who told her to enjoy this moment.
Park Ji Yeon honestly said that this level of attention is new to her even after 21 years as an actress. She said, “This is the first time in my life that viewers have watched my work and given me this much attention and support”.
She added that she feels thankful, but also a little scared because so many people are looking at her kindly.
Meanwhile, “Teach You a Lesson” has continued its strong success on Netflix, ranking No. 1 on the global Top 10 non English shows for two weeks in a row since its release on June 5.
