KBS2's weekend romance drama A Love Other Than Yours, starring Seo Kang Joon and Ahn Eun Jin, is struggling to attract viewers as its latest episode recorded a new personal low in nationwide ratings.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 9 of A Love Other Than Yours, which aired on October 17, recorded an average nationwide rating of 1.8%, marking the drama's lowest rating since its premiere.
The result shows that the series remains in the 1% ratings range despite featuring two well-known lead actors.
With the drama already entering the later part of its story, its continued low viewership has raised questions about whether it can recover before the finale.
The ratings decline comes as A Love Other Than Yours prepares to introduce another emotional development between its main characters.
On October 18, the production team released new stills featuring Seo Kang Joon and Ahn Eun Jin ahead of episode 10.
The drama follows Namgoong Ho, played by Seo Kang Joon, and Lee Mi Do, played by Ahn Eun Jin, as they navigate a complicated relationship and temporarily agree to spend time apart.
Despite their decision to separate for one month, the two characters find themselves connected through their families, setting the stage for another encounter.
Newly released photos show the former couple attending a family camping trip, where their expressions suggest that unresolved feelings remain between them.
The preview also hints at an emotional conversation, with Lee Mi Do expressing her feelings about Namgoong Ho.
She says, "I can't leave Namgoong. I have to be there for him."
The upcoming episode is expected to explore how their reunion may affect their relationship, without revealing whether they will get back together.
However, the biggest challenge for A Love Other Than Yours remains its television ratings.
Although Seo Kang Joon and Ahn Eun Jin are established actors, their presence has not been enough to prevent the drama from falling to its lowest nationwide rating of 1.8%.
Attention is now turning to whether the developments in episode 10 can help A Love Other Than Yours recover its viewership as the series approaches its conclusion.
