Netflix’s “Teach You a Lesson” has officially reached No. 1 on the global TV show chart.

According to global OTT ranking site FlixPatrol on June 12 local time, the Netflix original series ranked No. 1 among global TV shows with a total score of 795 points.

The drama also ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s daily Top 10 series chart in 45 countries. This includes South Korea, India, Japan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Qatar, Lebanon, Türkiye, and more, showing strong popularity across Asia, South America, and the Middle East.

Teach You a Lesson” follows the Teachers’ Rights Protection Bureau, an organization created to protect South Korea’s education field from students, teachers, and parents who cross the line. All 10 episodes were released on June 5 and quickly became one of the most talked about Korean series on Netflix.

The series initially drew concern because it was adapted from the webtoon of the same name. The original webtoon previously faced criticism over sensitive issues and strong content, and its overseas release was stopped. In Korea, a teachers’ group also protested against the drama’s production. Kim Nam Gil was once mentioned for the lead role but later turned it down.

After Kim Mu Yeol took the lead role, the released version of “Teach You a Lesson” has received attention for changing parts of the original story and reducing some of the controversial elements. With the drama now gaining strong reactions both in Korea and overseas, viewers are watching closely to see how far its success will go.
