aespa’s Karina personally explained why she appeared to be frowning in recent airport photos.
On June 10, Karina shared several press photos from her airport departure on her Instagram Story. In the photos, she was seen with a serious expression, which quickly caught attention.
Karina explained that it was because of her allergies, writing, “Because of my allergies, I had to make that expression so it would not show, so I had no choice but to walk around frowning. I feel upset.”
She also added, “I really liked my hair and makeup today too. I will go and come back safely. Fighting.”
Karina departed from Incheon International Airport with fellow aespa member Winter on the morning of June 10. The two left for Mexico to attend a cheering squad schedule for the “2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup.”
