
MBC’s “Perfect Crown” has set a new personal best in viewership ahead of its finale.
According to Nielsen Korea on May 16, episode 11 of the Friday Saturday drama recorded 13.5% nationwide, 13.5% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and 5.3% among viewers aged 20 to 54. The drama once again broke its own highest nationwide rating and continued its strong upward trend.
The episode also ranked No. 1 among all Friday programs in nationwide ratings, metropolitan ratings, and the 20 to 54 viewer rating category. Its highest minute rating rose to 16.3%.

The latest episode followed Seong Hee Joo, played by IU, and Grand Prince Ian, played by Byeon Woo Seok, as their relationship grew stronger while they faced danger together.
After hearing that Grand Prince Ian was trapped inside a burning royal office, Seong Hee Joo ran into the flames to save him. With help from Choi Hyun, played by Yoo Su Bin, she was able to rescue him. Grand Prince Ian later regained consciousness, and the two shared an emotional moment of relief.
The episode also showed the palace conflict becoming more serious. Yoon Yi Rang, played by Gong Seung Yeon, realized that her father Yoon Sung Won, played by Jo Jae Yoon, was behind the dangerous incidents. She later confessed her father’s crimes to Grand Prince Ian and asked to be punished.

Grand Prince Ian also began to question the future of the royal family after learning more about the people protecting their power. He declared, “The royal family cannot last forever,” revealing his intention to move toward abolishing the monarchy.
At the same time, Seong Hee Joo showed her support for Grand Prince Ian while confronting Min Jung Woo, played by No Sang Hyun. Her warning, “We might become enemies,” raised tension as the story moved closer to its ending.
The episode ended with Grand Prince Ian finally taking the throne, leaving viewers curious about whether he can reach his goal.
