IU and Lee Yeon are drawing attention for their close friendship outside of filming.
On the May 9 broadcast of MBC’s ‘Omniscient Interfering View', viewers got a look at IU and Lee Yeon during a photo shoot.
The two are currently working together in the drama ‘Perfect Crown’, where they have been praised for their strong chemistry.
While IU and Lee Yeon showed a professional side in front of the camera, their real friendship stood out during breaks. The two joked around with each other and showed a comfortable bond that felt like real sisters.
Lee Yeon surprised everyone by openly saying, “I want to go to senior Ji Eun’s house right now.” It was then revealed that she had already visited IU’s home more than four or five times.
Their friendship is so close that IU’s house reportedly has personal items just for Lee Yeon, including her “own pajamas” and “body lotion”.
Lee Yeon also shared how thoughtful IU is as a friend. She said IU once woke up a few hours early after Lee Yeon stayed over, prepared fruit, and made breakfast for her. She also revealed that IU cooked rice cake soup for her during a holiday.
IU then shared that Lee Yeon had once secretly sent her a birthday gift through her manager. IU said, “I was thankful that she had the courage to express her feelings. The door to my heart opened wide at that time.”
Lee Yeon also revealed another touching moment, saying IU once gave her an expensive clothing gift while they were walking together during a holiday.
She added that when she tried to pay for meals and other expenses, IU warmly told her, “If you spend money depending on your mood like that, you will not be able to save money. When you meet me, come without thinking about spending money.” Lee Yeon said IU’s care deeply moved her.
Lee Yeon also made everyone laugh as she talked about their recent Jeju Island trip with Yoo Su Bin. She said, “I kept convincing her to go on a trip. I said, ‘You will not be friends with me after filming ends, right?’ and she eventually gave in.”
IU also mentioned the passport case she gave Lee Yeon as a gift and said, “It would be nice if we could go on a trip together where she can use that passport case.”
With their sweet stories and playful chemistry, IU and Lee Yeon showed that their friendship has grown warmly beyond the set of ‘Perfect Crown’.
