Shin Hye Sun shared a heartfelt story about her mother and the strength she gave her during difficult times.

On the May 6 broadcast of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block,” Shin Hye Sun appeared as a guest and talked about her 13 year career, her steady work pace, and the support she received from her mother.

During the show, Yoo Jae Suk mentioned that Shin Hye Sun has appeared in more than 30 projects since her debut. He jokingly called her “So Hye Sun,” referring to how often she works.

Shin Hye Sun explained that some people even tell her agency CEO to let her rest. However, she said it is actually her own choice to keep working, adding, “I’m the one choosing to do it, so my CEO feels wronged.”

The actress then opened up about how she handles challenges. She said she is someone who accepts many things calmly and often tells herself, “You are strong.” She shared that this strength may have come from her mother.

Shin Hye Sun described her mother as a warm and honest person who never pretends or shows off. She said her mother always believed in her, even when she could not believe in herself.

She recalled, “My mother told me, ‘I believe in my daughter.’” Shin Hye Sun said those words made her wonder if she had a hidden ability she did not know about, and helped her become more confident.

She also shared that her mother gave her endless love during her younger years. Even when Shin Hye Sun acted rebellious during puberty, her mother would come to her at night and massage her until she fell asleep.

Looking back on her unknown days, Shin Hye Sun said she had no work and felt unnoticed, but she still had confidence that things would change. She remembered thinking, “It’s okay. I will become busy and famous later.”

Shin Hye Sun said that because she felt emotionally supported, she was able to endure that time. She added that if she becomes a mother one day, she wants to give her child the same kind of love her mother gave her.
