
BTS member J-Hope moved fans after sharing his emotional experience during the group’s Tokyo concert, while continuing to perform despite personal loss.
During the ‘BTS World Tour ARIRANG’ held on April 17 and 18, J-Hope revealed that he received news of his grandmother’s passing shortly after arriving in Japan.
He said, “I heard that my grandmother, who raised me since I was young, passed away,” and added that he felt “very surprised and overwhelmed.”
Despite the situation, he chose to continue the concert and keep his promise to fans. He shared that while preparing for the performance with the members, “the confusion gradually settled down,” showing his effort to stay focused.
J-Hope also spoke about his grandmother with warmth, saying she was very proud of him and the group, and added, “If she watched today’s performance from above, I think she would have been very happy.”
He expressed gratitude to fans, saying, “Thank you to ARMY for making this stage more meaningful,” and reassured them by saying, “I am really okay.”
His decision to stay on stage during a difficult time has brought strong emotional support and respect from fans.
