A Netflix drama is gaining major attention again after its release, proving that its impact did not end with its initial popularity.
“You and Everything Else”, which first attracted viewers with strong buzz and high rankings, is now being recognized for its quality as it leads the spotlight at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
This comes in contrast to tvN’s “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty”, which previously made headlines with a peak rating of 17.1%.
According to the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards nominations announced on April 13, the drama secured a total of six nominations, including Best Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Artistic Achievement, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor.
The series tied for the highest number of nominations alongside JTBC’s “Our Unwritten Seoul”, showing balanced recognition across directing, writing, cinematography, and acting.
Director Jo Young Min, writer Song Hye Jin, and cinematographer Um Sung Tak were all nominated, while Kim Go Eun and Park Ji Hyun earned Best Actress nominations. Kim Gun Woo was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
The drama also showed strong performance earlier, ranking No. 1 on Netflix during its release and continuing to draw attention even after time passed. Its return to the spotlight highlights a rare case where a series gains renewed recognition beyond its initial success.
Speaking about the project, Kim Go Eun shared, “At first, I wondered, ‘Is it too calm?’ but the depth and the way the story builds really moved me.”
She added about a key emotional scene, “This part feels like my ‘cry button,’” and explained, “I kept thinking the most about what I would do when I have to let go of someone I value the most.”
Unlike typical fast-paced dramas, “You and Everything Else” gained attention for its steady storytelling and emotional depth, which are now being seen as its biggest strengths.
With both strong rankings and major award nominations, the drama is proving that popularity and quality can go together, leaving a lasting impression on viewers even after its release.
