Former BIGBANG member T.O.P is drawing attention after several tracks from his first full-length album were deemed unfit for broadcast by KBS.
According to the results released on April 8, a total of 7 songs from his album ‘Another Dimension’ failed the KBS music review. Out of 195 songs reviewed, only 7 were marked unfit, and all of them were from T.O.P’s album.
The album, released on April 3, includes 11 tracks with double title songs “DESPERADO” and “Crazy (Studio54).” However, several songs did not pass the review due to content-related concerns.
Tracks including “Crazy (Studio54),” “BE SOLID,” “FOR FANS,” “SEOUL CHAOS,” “Another Dimension Holy Dude,” “ZERO-COKE,” and “SELF CRUCIFIXION” were all ruled unfit.
KBS explained that some songs, such as “Crazy,” “ZERO-COKE,” “FOR FANS,” and “SEOUL CHAOS,” violated regulations due to lyrics that mention specific brand names, which may create advertising effects.
Meanwhile, “SELF CRUCIFIXION” was flagged for lyrics that could “encourage or reference illegal acts such as drug use,” and “BE SOLID” was noted for containing “profanity and low-level expressions.”
On the other hand, tracks like “STENDHAL SYNDROME,” “DESPERADO,” “OVAYA,” and “THE GIANT” were approved for broadcast.
Songs that are deemed unfit can still be revised by modifying or removing the problematic parts and then resubmitted for review. Only songs that pass the review are allowed to be aired on KBS television and radio programs.
