Shin Jae Ha is drawing strong attention from viewers after delivering an emotional performance in JTBC’s Still Shining.

In the March 20 episode, the actor once again stood out as Bae Seong Chan, a character who has quietly loved Mo Eun A (Kim Min Ju) for more than 10 years.

His deeply loyal and selfless feelings have now made him one of the drama’s most talked about characters, with many viewers praising the role as one of the most heartbreaking examples of one sided love in recent K drama memory.

What especially caught attention was the way Bae Seong Chan continued to care for Mo Eun A even in a painful moment.

After she reached out to say goodbye, he still rushed to her side, and instead of making things harder for her, he comforted her with the line, “It was just me liking you on my own.” The quiet honesty of that moment left a strong impression on viewers.

The character’s long history of devotion also added to the emotional weight. It was revealed that Bae Seong Chan had supported Mo Eun A through difficult times in the past, showing just how deeply he had cared for her for years without asking for anything in return.

Rather than relying on dramatic reactions, Shin Jae Ha earned praise for his restrained and delicate performance. His calm voice, warm gaze, and subtle facial expressions helped highlight the sadness of a man who loved sincerely but still chose to let go.

With Still Shining continuing to build emotional interest around its characters, Shin Jae Ha’s portrayal of Bae Seong Chan is now being recognized as one of the drama’s standout performances and a major reason viewers are feeling even more attached to the story.

JTBC’s Still Shining airs every Friday at 8:50 PM.
