BTS’s V is once again showing why fans call him the “Sold Out King,” as his “VELVET RED” version LP for BTS’s upcoming 5th full album ‘ARIRANG’ continues to dominate pre orders around the world.
As of March 17, V’s “VELVET RED” LP ranked No. 1 in the vinyl category at France’s Fnac, one of the country’s biggest music and retail chains, after recording the highest sales in the category. The result drew even more attention because the group versions ‘ARIRANG (B&W Ver) Deluxe’ and ‘ARIRANG (Color Ver) Deluxe’ followed behind at No. 5 and No. 6.
The strong momentum has not been limited to France. V’s member LP was also the first among the member versions to sell out at U.S. retailer Target, and it sold out again immediately after restocking on the Weverse U.S. Shop, continuing a pattern of repeated sellouts and restocks that has kept fans watching closely.
In Japan, the album reportedly became the only member LP version to enter both Amazon Japan’s “Bestseller” and “Hot New Releases” categories, while also recording the highest pre order sales among the member versions.
It also reportedly sold out at Rakuten’s Good and Music despite being listed at the highest price among the LP versions, and recorded the highest sales on Qoo10.
In Korea, the LP also made an immediate impact by reaching No. 1 on Naver Store’s weekly bestseller chart based on just one day of pre order sales.
With No. 1 rankings, repeated sellouts, and strong pre order results across France, the U.S., Japan, and Korea, V’s “VELVET RED” LP is once again proving his strong individual buying power ahead of BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’ release.
BTS is set to release ‘ARIRANG’ on March 20, with a live comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21.
