Go Youn Jung is drawing strong attention as she prepares for what could be another major turning point in her acting career with JTBC’s upcoming weekend drama “We Are All Trying Here.”
The new series is set to premiere on April 18 at 10:40 PM and is already being highlighted as one of JTBC’s most anticipated new dramas.
Much of the early buzz comes from the fact that it is the latest work by writer Park Hae Young, who is widely known for hit dramas such as “My Mister” and “My Liberation Notes.”
In the drama, Go Youn Jung will play Byun Eun A, a film company producer who is known in the industry as “The Axe” because of her sharp and direct script reviews.
While the character appears calm and composed on the outside, she carries deep emotional wounds and trauma, making the role one expected to show a more intense and layered side of Go Youn Jung’s acting.
The story will also follow Byun Eun A’s connection with Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan), as the two characters gradually help each other heal while facing their own emotional struggles.
The project is receiving even more attention because it follows the success of “My Liberation Notes,” where Kim Ji Won earned widespread praise for her memorable line “Worship me” and her subtle, emotionally powerful performance.
Because of that, many viewers are already wondering whether Go Youn Jung could deliver a similarly defining role under Park Hae Young’s writing.
After recently showing a brighter and lighter side in the Netflix romantic comedy “Can This Love Be Translated?”, Go Youn Jung is now expected to return with a very different emotional tone in this new drama.
With a respected writer, a deeply emotional story, and a challenging lead role, “We Are All Trying Here” is already shaping up to be one of Go Youn Jung’s most closely watched projects of the year.
