TWICE’s unit MiSaMo (Mina, Sana, Momo) is proving its strong power in Japan as their first full Japanese album PLAY tops major weekly music charts.
Released on February 4, PLAY quickly showed impressive results. According to the February 16 update, the album ranked No. 1 on Oricon’s Weekly Album Ranking and Weekly Combined Album Ranking for the tracking period of February 2 to 8.
The momentum did not stop there. On the February 11 chart, PLAY also reached No. 1 on Billboard Japan’s Top Album Sales and Hot Albums charts. In addition, the album topped Tower Records’ All Store Weekly Album Chart (February 2 to 8) and LINE Music’s Weekly Album Top 100 (February 4 to 10), confirming its wide popularity across platforms.
With these results, MiSaMo has once again shown its strong presence in the Japanese market. The unit previously topped major weekly charts with Masterpiece and successfully completed their first dome tour following HAUTE COUTURE. Now, with PLAY, they continue their winning streak by dominating both sales and combined rankings.
Meanwhile, TWICE is also preparing for a major milestone. As part of their world tour THIS IS FOR, the group will hold a 360 degree solo concert at Tokyo National Stadium on April 25, 26, and 28. They are set to become the first overseas female artist to perform at the venue, with around 80,000 seats per show, totaling approximately 240,000 fans over three days.
With PLAY sweeping weekly charts and large scale concerts ahead, MiSaMo and TWICE are continuing their strong run in Japan.
