ENA’s Monday Tuesday drama Idol I is proving its strong global appeal as it continues to rise across major Asian streaming charts.
According to the weekly rankings released by Viu for the third week of January (January 12 to January 18), Idol I, starring Choi Soo Young and Kim Jae Young, placed No. 3 in Indonesia, No. 4 in Thailand and Malaysia, and No. 7 in Hong Kong.
The drama also remained in the upper ranks in the Philippines and Singapore, showing steady popularity across Southeast Asia.
The drama’s strong performance is being linked to its realistic look at the K pop industry beyond the glamorous stage. Choi Soo Young’s role, in particular, has drawn attention as viewers praise her convincing portrayal and emotional balance.
Her real life experience as a member of Girls’ Generation has added credibility, helping overseas audiences connect more deeply with the story.
With consistent rankings across multiple countries and growing word of mouth among international viewers, Idol I is standing out as one of the most talked about Korean dramas on Viu this season. The series continues to show strong momentum as it nears its final stretch.
Meanwhile, Viu, operated by Hong Kong based PCCW, continues to expand the global reach of Korean content by offering popular titles such as Idol I, Love Me, and Transit Love 4 to audiences across Asia and beyond.
