The hit drama Taxi Driver 3, known as the national hero story of Korean TV, is ending its run while continuing an unstoppable streak in ratings and popularity.
SBS’s Friday–Saturday drama follows the secretive taxi company Rainbow Transport and driver Kim Do Gi as they carry out private revenge missions for victims who have been wronged.
Returning two years after season 2, the series impressed viewers with cinematic direction, strong character work from the “Rainbow Dark Heroes,” a solid continuing universe, and a record-breaking villain lineup.
From its first week, Taxi Driver 3 dominated both domestic and international charts. In its second week, the series broke double-digit ratings, maintaining steady growth.
At the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, lead actor Lee Je Hoon (Kim Do Gi) won the Daesang (Grand Prize) for the second time with the series, cementing its status as a true “national hero drama.”
With only two episodes left, Taxi Driver 3 continues to set new records. Episode 14 recorded 18.5% nationwide, 15.1% in the metropolitan area, and 14.2% across the country, marking its highest ratings yet.
The 2049 age demographic rating reached 4.8%, peaking at 5.75%, making it the No. 1 broadcast across all shows in the new year so far.
Buzz around the drama remains high. According to FUNdex (Good Data Corporation) for the first week of January (Dec 29, 2025–Jan 4, 2026), Taxi Driver 3 ranked No. 1 in TV-OTT drama popularity, while Lee Je Hoon claimed No. 1 for overall TV-OTT actor buzz.
OTT performance was equally impressive. KinoLights’ integrated content ranking for the same week placed Taxi Driver 3 No. 1 across all content, including dramas, movies, and variety shows. On January 5, Flixpatrol’s “Top 10 Korean Netflix Series” confirmed the drama held the No. 1 spot.
The series has also received international attention. On IMDb, episodes 1–14 have an average rating of 9.2 (as of January 6), proving its standout position in a competitive content market.
As fans express sadness over the approaching end, the final episodes will air on January 9 and 10, featuring a revenge mission set in a military base.
Veteran actor Kim Jong Su (Oh Won Sang) will appear as the final villain, with a special appearance by Jeon So Ni (Yoo Sun Ah), building anticipation for a spectacular finale to Taxi Driver 3.
