'Stranger Things' tops Netflix charts worldwide but surprisingly fails to enter Korea’s Top 10 even at the finale

Netflix’s global hit series Stranger Things showed strong chart power around the world, but it failed to win the attention of Korean viewers until the very end.

According to global OTT ranking site FlixPatrol, the Stranger Things Season 5 finale ranked No. 1 in the TV show category in 61 countries on its release day, December 31 (local time).

The series topped charts in major markets such as the United States, Italy, Portugal, Türkiye, and Uruguay, proving its continued global popularity.

On January 1, the number of countries where the show held the No. 1 spot dropped to 54, but it still remained at the top overall with a high ranking score of 856 points, showing strong worldwide demand.

However, the situation was very different in South Korea. Out of 93 countries tracked, Korea was the only country where Stranger Things failed to enter the Netflix Top 10 at all.

Instead, the Korean Top 10 was dominated by other titles, including Culinary Class Wars 2, Cashero, No Mercy, Idol I, and Pro Bono.

Despite being one of Netflix’s most well-known original series with a long global history, Stranger Things ended its run without chart success in Korea, highlighting a clear contrast between its worldwide rankings and its local performance.
