G-Dragon became a hot topic online after he was seen liking, and later unliking, a social media post related to Kim Soo Hyun.

On May 28, screenshots spread across online communities showing that G-Dragon had liked a post about an official statement from Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist.

The post discussed the agency’s statement about past allegations raised by the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute.

According to the statement, claims involving Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron, including allegations about a past relationship when she was a minor, were found through an investigation to be false and fabricated.

The statement also claimed that messenger conversations and audio files presented by Kim Se Ui, the head of Garo Sero Research Institute, showed signs of editing and forgery. A court has reportedly issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se Ui on charges including defamation.

Kim Soo Hyun’s side said, “Kim Soo Hyun promised at a press conference one year ago, ‘I will not ask you to believe me. I will make sure to prove it.’”

The agency added, “Kim Soo Hyun’s past year was a time spent only to keep that promise. Finally, through legal procedures and a thorough investigation, the truth has been proven.”

G-Dragon and Kim Soo Hyun are known to be close friends. Both were born in 1988, and Kim Soo Hyun previously attended G-Dragon’s album listening event for “Übermensch” in February 2025. He also joined a recording for “Good Day”, a variety show featuring G-Dragon and his close friends.

G-Dragon is also known for frequently pressing likes on posts as a form of communication. During his appearance on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” in October 2024, he joked, “I usually press hearts often. My beginning was Heartbreaker. Since then, I have been spreading love.”

However, his recent like on the Kim Soo Hyun related post led to mixed reactions. Some netizens saw it as a quiet show of support for a close friend, while others felt it was too soon because the issue remains sensitive.

As online discussion continued, G-Dragon removed his like from the post.
