TVING’s new original series Dear X is turning into a massive global sensation, grabbing the attention of viewers all over the world.
The drama dropped at the same time on major platforms like HBO Max, Disney Plus Japan, Rakuten Viki, and STARZPLAY — and the response has been explosive.
Dear X, based on a popular webtoon, follows Baek A Jin (played by Kim Yoo Jung), a woman who hides her true self behind a mask as she tries to rise to the top, leaving a trail of “X” victims she stepped on along the way.
The intense storyline, strong directing, and powerful acting are making global viewers binge the series nonstop.
After its November 6 release, the drama quickly became TVING’s No. 1 title for new paid sign-ups for two straight weekends in Korea, proving its strong buzz at home.
Internationally, Dear X is seeing huge success. During its first week on Rakuten Viki, it ranked in the TOP 3 across North America, Europe, Oceania, and India — and even hit No. 1 in 108 countries including the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, the U.K., France, and India. It also entered the TOP 3 on the Disney Plus Japan daily rankings, showing steady love across Asia.
In the Middle East and North Africa, the series made headlines for being the first CJ ENM title released on STARZPLAY with Arabic subtitles from day one. It quickly climbed into the TOP 5 in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, showing the growing demand for K-content in the region.
HBO Max also confirmed that Dear X is one of the best-performing Asian titles in 17 Asia-Pacific markets, including Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
A TVING representative shared, “The explosive response to TVING’s first global launch shows the strong power of K-content. This result is an important milestone proving that Korea’s original series can succeed worldwide. We expect Dear X to grow even more and build a strong global fanbase.”
Dear X drops two new episodes every Thursday and continues to reach fans across Korea and the rest of the world.
