Actress Jun Ji Hyun is set to return to the big screen after 11 years with the upcoming film “Colony.” The production has confirmed its theatrical release in May 2026, while also unveiling a short 30 second teaser that has begun drawing attention from fans.

On March 5, distributor Showbox announced the release schedule for director Yeon Sang Ho’s latest project. The film has already gained interest for its star studded cast, including Jun Ji Hyun, Koo Kyo Hwan, Ji Chang Wook, Shin Hyun Bin, Kim Shin Rok, and Go Soo.

“Colony” tells the story of survivors trapped inside a building that has been sealed off due to a mysterious infection outbreak.

As they struggle to survive, the infected begin evolving into unpredictable forms, creating a tense fight for survival.

Along with the release announcement, a concept teaser was revealed showing infected figures tangled in white mucus, hinting at the appearance of a new type of creature and raising curiosity about the film’s unique visual world.

Director Yeon Sang Ho, known for projects such as “Train to Busan” and the series “Hellbound,” is expected to once again present a new and intense cinematic universe.

The film is attracting particular attention as it marks Jun Ji Hyun’s first movie appearance in 11 years, making “Colony” one of the most anticipated Korean films set to arrive in theaters in May 2026.
