Singer and actor Hwang Min Hyun is already receiving love calls from the industry even before completing his military service.
On October 23, a representative from Pledis Entertainment confirmed that the idol-actor is in talks to appear in TVING’s hit series Study Group Season 2, saying, “We are currently discussing his appearance.”
Study Group is a popular high school action comedy based on the webtoon of the same name. It follows Yoon Ga Min, a student who dreams of studying hard but ends up fighting his way through a chaotic and rough school.
The drama became a breakout success after its release in January, earning praise from both Korean and global viewers. It even topped TVING’s new paid subscriber rankings for five straight weeks, sparking anticipation for another season.
Hwang Min Hyun, who enlisted in March last year and is set to be discharged on December 20, is also scheduled to make a special appearance as one of the MCs for MBC’s year-end ‘Gayo Daejejeon’.
With his return to the entertainment scene just around the corner, fans are excited to see what project he’ll choose next — and whether Study Group 2 will mark his first comeback role after the military.
