From “joke” to scandal — Lee Yi Kyung’s accuser admits using AI for fake chats then disappears after public apology

The person who accused actor Lee Yi Kyung of inappropriate behavior has now admitted that the entire story was fake and created with AI — before deleting their social media account.

On October 22, the accuser, referred to as “A,” suddenly confessed on X (formerly Twitter), “It started as a joke. I didn’t expect it to gain so much attention. But as I kept posting and using AI photos, I started to believe it myself.”

A also apologized to the actor, saying, “I’m really sorry for spreading malicious rumors about Lee Yi Kyung. It started from being a fan, but I got too emotionally involved. What started for fun became too real, and now I feel guilty. If there’s anything I should take responsibility for, I will.”

Shortly after the post, A’s X account was deleted, leaving behind the message, “This account does not exist.”

Earlier, A had posted screenshots claiming to be messages between themselves and a person saved as “Lee Kyung actor,” accusing him of making inappropriate comments. The claims quickly spread online, leading to massive backlash.

Lee Yi Kyung’s agency Sangyoung ENT responded firmly, saying, “We are preparing legal action against the spread of false information and malicious rumors. Given the seriousness of this matter, we will take every possible measure.”

Now that A has admitted to fabricating the entire story, the controversy appears to have come to an end — but not without damaging Lee Yi Kyung’s reputation in the process.
