Singer Bada from legendary first-generation girl group S.E.S. touched hearts with her emotional story about her late father.

During her appearance on Channel A’s Best Friends Talkumentary – Table for 4, Bada opened up about her family’s struggles before her debut and the heartbreaking sacrifices her father made for her dreams.

The singer revealed that her father, despite being diagnosed with only six months to live, still went on stage wearing traditional Korean attire to earn money for her studies. “My father had a 6-month terminal illness, but he still went on stage wearing a dopo and gat to support my dream of going to an arts high school,” Bada shared.

She tearfully recalled a painful moment that changed her life forever. “One day, my father said, ‘I really don’t want to go out today,’ and I cried so hard in the bathroom. That’s when I promised myself that I had to succeed no matter what,” she confessed.

Bada also expressed deep gratitude to the people who helped her along the way, including a priest who paid for her study fees and an anonymous person who covered her tuition. To repay their kindness, she has held a UNICEF charity bazaar for 13 years.

She reflected on the tough years before debuting, saying her family lived in a small house beside a church without hot water. “We always washed with cold water, so I did the same even after debut. I’ll never forget the day I finally took a warm shower after getting my first payment,” she recalled.

Fans praised Bada for her honesty and strength, calling her story “heartbreaking but inspiring.” Many said her words reminded them of the sacrifices their own parents made.

Bada continues to inspire not only through her music but also with her story of love, gratitude, and perseverance.
