BTS’s Jungkook has set another jaw-dropping record with his solo album GOLDEN.
On September 18, the World Music Awards (WMA) announced that Jungkook’s GOLDEN has officially surpassed 6.1 billion streams on Spotify (before filtering), becoming the first album by an Asian soloist to reach this milestone.
It also achieved the record as the fastest Asian studio album to hit 6.1 billion streams.

Ever since its release on November 3, 2023, GOLDEN has been rewriting history. On its first day alone, the album recorded 39.6 million streams, the highest first-day total for a K-pop solo album on Spotify. All 10 tracks entered Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart, with Seven debuting at #1 and Standing Next to You at #2.
The album has also shown incredible staying power, holding a spot on the Weekly Top Albums Global chart for 97 consecutive weeks — the first and longest run ever for an Asian solo album.
Beyond Spotify, GOLDEN debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, where it stayed for 24 straight weeks, setting the record for the longest-charting Asian soloist album in U.S. history. In the UK, it also became the longest-charting K-pop solo album, lasting 8 weeks on the Official Albums Top 100.
With more than 2.5 million physical sales and billions of streams worldwide, GOLDEN has solidified Jungkook’s status as the king of global streaming and one of the most powerful solo artists of this generation.
