NMIXX has achieved an impressive chart milestone with their new title track Birthday Wish, which climbed to No. 5 on Melon's Top 100 chart just one day after its release.
On October 19, NMIXX released their sixth mini album Strange Muse, featuring the title track 긴 소원 (Birthday Wish). The song made its debut at No. 34 on Melon's Top 100 chart, marking the group's highest entry position on the chart.
The achievement became even more notable when the song continued to rise shortly after its release.
By midnight KST on October 20, Birthday Wish had climbed to No. 5 on the Melon Top 100, gaining 29 positions from its initial entry.
The rapid rise marked a strong start for NMIXX's latest comeback and showed growing interest in the group's new music among South Korean listeners.
The chart performance also represents another milestone for the six-member JYP Entertainment girl group, which has continued to explore different musical styles while building its presence on domestic streaming platforms.
Alongside the song's chart success, NMIXX celebrated the release of Strange Muse with fans through a special countdown livestream on October 19.
During the broadcast, the members expressed their excitement about returning with new music and thanked their fandom, NSWER, for their continued support.
“We worked hard to prepare this album, hoping it would feel like a gift. Before we knew it, autumn had already arrived,” the members shared.
They added, “NMIXX will take care of NSWER's autumn again this time, so please look forward to it.”
The members also introduced several tracks from the album, including their first unit songs, which highlight different combinations of the group's vocals and musical styles.
Lily and Haewon discussed Sing to the Moon, explaining that the song allows listeners to interpret its meaning in different ways.
Sullyoon and Bae introduced Hot 'n Unbothered as a track that captures their chemistry, while Jiwoo and Kyujin shared that they were personally involved in creating WHIP, making the song especially meaningful to them.
The livestream also featured games, album discussions, and interactions with fans as the members celebrated their comeback.
Before ending the broadcast, NMIXX expressed their hopes for the new promotional period.
“We prepared this comeback with a lot of love. We hope this will be a time when all our long-held wishes come true,” the members said.
They also wished for a happy autumn filled with meaningful moments for both NMIXX and NSWER.
With Birthday Wish reaching No. 5 on the Melon Top 100 shortly after debuting at No. 34, NMIXX has started its Strange Muse comeback with a significant chart achievement.
The song's strong early performance has drawn attention to how high it could climb as the group continues promoting its new album.
