BTS’s V has finally revealed how he managed to throw such a perfect first pitch at the LA Dodgers game — and the behind-the-scenes story is just as fun as the moment itself.

On BTS’s official YouTube channel BANGTANTV, a video titled “V LA Dodgers first pitch behind-the-scenes” was uploaded, showing how much effort he put in before stepping onto the mound at Dodger Stadium.

While staying in the U.S. for work, V confessed that he practiced pitching every chance he got. “I watched YouTube alone, thinking, ‘Ah, so this is how you do it,’” he said, surprising staff with his self-taught training. He even admitted he skipped shoulder workouts on the day of the game because he was too nervous about throwing the ball.

Before the pitch, V had a video call with baseball player Kim Hye Sung, who was supposed to guide him but couldn’t due to injury.

V laughed as he joked, “What if I just throw it and it ends up a ground ball? Then I’d have to kneel and say, ‘I’m sorry,’ and never be able to come to a Dodgers game again.”

He also met Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow, who gave him quick pointers and calmed his nerves. Back in the waiting room, V practiced the new tips while saying he was debating whether to eat before the pitch or stay focused.

When the big moment came, Dodger Stadium roared with excitement as V confidently delivered a flawless left-handed throw and kicked off the game by shouting, “It’s time for Dodger baseball!”

Afterward, V shared, “I had fun. I watched a lot of videos, thinking about how to pitch well. Next time, I’d like to actually learn baseball and throw again. My control was okay, but I didn’t have much speed. Please look forward to me throwing maybe up to 120 (km/h) next time.”

With his perfect pitch, humor, and dedication, V once again proved why fans can’t get enough of his charm.
