BTS’s Jungkook once again proved his unrivaled star power by drawing 16.5 million live viewers — just to watch him run on a treadmill.

On August 29 around 10 p.m., Jungkook surprised fans with a live broadcast on Weverse titled “I should take a shower.” Streaming from his home, he casually shared, “I exercised, tried on some clothes, organized the house, and was supposed to shower, but I was too lazy. I sat on the sofa, turned on the TV, played some music, and thought of you all, so I started the live.”

During the live, he revealed that he has recently been running along the Han River with fellow member V, aiming to do cardio three times a week. He also mentioned he’s eating one meal a day and working out to slim down from 75kg to around 68–69kg.

In the middle of the broadcast, Jungkook suddenly decided to do the cardio he had missed that day and headed straight to his treadmill. Wearing a tight all-black workout outfit that showed his broad shoulders and muscular build, he ran at high speed and incline, showing his incredible stamina.

What shocked fans even more was that for about 22 minutes, Jungkook didn’t say a single word — only the sound of his breathing filled the room — yet millions kept watching.

After finishing, he promised fans, “I’ll lose weight well and show you something cool. I’ll definitely do something, right?” hinting at possible solo activities. He also gave fans a quick first look at the second floor of his home before wrapping up.

Fans reacted with comments like, “16.5 million people watched Jungkook’s running live,” “The ultimate self-discipline king,” “Even after 10 years, his idol mindset is unchanged,” and “If Jung Kook appeared on I Live Alone, ratings would explode.”

Previously, Jungkook set a record with his live “How have you been?” reaching 16.3 million simultaneous viewers, the highest ever for a personal broadcast on Weverse. With his new live, he has already surpassed himself once again.
