WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon has revealed a funny story from his military service involving none other than BLACKPINK.
On the August 29 broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s Escape at 2 O’Clock Cultwo Show (Cultwo Show), Kang Seung Yoon appeared as a special DJ while Nam Ho Yeon and Kim Seung Jin joined as guests for the segment “Failed Stories 4989.”
During the talk, the guests shared stories about bragging about acquaintances they weren’t really close with. Nam Ho Yeon started with a tale about Yoo Jae Suk, before Kang Seung Yoon jumped in with his own confession.
He said, “I also bragged a lot when I was in the army. I don’t even know if the person still uses that number, but I used to show it off. For example, our company juniors like BLACKPINK."
He added, "I don’t really contact them, and I don’t know if the number is still right, but I bragged anyway, saying, ‘Do you guys know BLACKPINK?’” His honest story made everyone laugh.
The episode also touched on his connection with actor Jung Hae In, who Kang Seung Yoon worked with on Prison Playbook.
He revealed that he has Jung Hae In’s number and still keeps in touch, while guest Kim Seung Jin shared a warm memory of Jung Hae In encouraging him during college days.
Meanwhile, Kang Seung Yoon enlisted in June 2023 and successfully completed his 18-month military service, being officially discharged on December 19, 2024. Fans are happy to see him back and sharing his trademark humor again.
