The production team of tvN’s new drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty has issued an apology after viewers pointed out a mistake in the Chinese characters shown on screen.

On August 25, the team released an official statement saying, “In episode 1, there was an error in the Chinese character writing of ‘Taepyeongseongdae (Great Peaceful Era)’."

They added, "The production team has acknowledged the issue and is currently working on corrections. Once the edits are complete, they will be reflected in re-runs and VOD services”.

They added, “We will be more careful during production and review so this does not happen again. We sincerely apologize for the confusion.”

The mistake happened in the August 23 premiere episode, where Yeon Ji Young (played by Im Yoon A) time-slips to Joseon and faces Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae Min).

uring the scene, flags featuring the phrase Taepyeongseongdae appeared, but instead of the correct writing 太平聖代, the production mistakenly wrote 太平聖大.

The error quickly spread online, with many netizens poking fun at the blunder by asking, “Where is Taepyeongseong University?”

Meanwhile, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is a survival fantasy romantic comedy that tells the story of a top chef who travels back in time and encounters a tyrant king with an extraordinary palate.
