
Yoon Ji Sung is stepping into a brand new challenge as he takes on his first-ever BL (Boys’ Love) drama.
The singer-actor has been confirmed to play the lead character Lee Il Jo in the upcoming drama Thunder Cloud Rainstorm, which is set to air in the second half of this year.
The series is based on a popular web novel by writer Chae Sim and tells the story of a complicated relationship that starts with sympathy but slowly grows into jealousy and obsession.

With the original story already loved by readers worldwide, expectations for the drama are high even before its release.
Thunder Cloud Rainstorm follows cousins Lee Il Jo and Seo Jung Han, who meet again at the funeral of Il Jo’s late uncle.


The drama will reinterpret the novel’s rich psychological descriptions and shifting emotions into a deep, emotional storyline that fans can watch unfold on screen.
Yoon Ji Sung will play Lee Il Jo, a man who has lost his home, money, and purpose in life after his father’s death. With nothing to hold on to, his heart begins to shake again when he reunites with Seo Jung Han. Through this role, Yoon Ji Sung is expected to showcase delicate acting that portrays both vulnerability and inner conflict.
Yoon Ji Sung first rose to fame in 2017 through Produce 101 Season 2 as the leader of Wanna One, gaining immense love from fans around the world. He later debuted as a solo artist in 2019, releasing albums such as Aside, Temperature of Love, Maze, and Voyage.
In 2021, he made his acting debut in SBS drama Let Me Be Your Knight and later appeared in musicals like Return, The Days, Something Rotten, and Happy Oh! Happy, proving his talent as an all-around entertainer.
Fans can look forward to seeing a new side of Yoon Ji Sung when Thunder Cloud Rainstorm premieres later this year.
