G-Dragon gave fans a comedy treat as he appeared on YouTube’s Birthday Party Where You Shouldn’t Laugh and struggled to hold back his smile.

On August 18 at 5 PM KST, comedian Yoo Byung Jae dropped the video G-Dragon’s Birthday Party Where You Shouldn’t Laugh” on his official YouTube channel. The clip had already been teased last month on Yoo’s SNS, and the release instantly blew up — surpassing 1.9 million views in just 14 hours.

Wearing red-rimmed glasses, a blue shirt, and red pants, G-Dragon entered as the birthday star looking both stylish and laid-back, immediately grabbing attention.

The party lineup was stacked with guests including Yoo Byung Jae, comedian Kim Yong Myung, MMA fighter Choi Hong Man, makeup artist Lee Sa Bae, and world-class beatboxer Wing.

The celebration quickly turned into a meme festival. Yoo Byung Jae hyped him up with the viral line “My friend is cool, right? My friend is so crooked, crooked” — a funny nod to GD’s hit “Crooked.” Kim Yong Myung also had everyone cracking up by mixing the viral summer meme “Stop talking and turn on the air conditioner on full power!” with GD’s track “POWER.”

But the real highlight was when Yoo I Jin, the adorable son of singer Car the garden, appeared. His innocent smile and perfect comedic timing melted the entire room — even G Dragon couldn’t resist.

Although GD tried hard to stay serious, he kept smiling throughout the challenge. Afterward, he laughed and shared, “It was fun. I didn’t laugh, but I had fun.” Even while blowing out his cake candles, he continued the “don’t laugh” mission, making the moment even more hilarious.

Fans couldn’t stop talking about the video online, leaving comments like:

  • “It’s GD’s birthday, but we’re the ones getting the gift. Thank you.”
  • “Him trying not to laugh from the start was already the funniest part.”
  • “With all these memes, I totally failed the don’t laugh challenge at home.”
  • “I was smiling for the full 22 minutes.”
  • “From his entrance to his exit, it was pure comedy gold.”

As of August 19 at 8:30 AM KST, the video is already close to 2 million views and still climbing.

Meanwhile, G-Dragon is busy with his third world tour ‘G Dragon 2025 World Tour [Ubermensch]’. He has already completed concerts in 11 cities and will continue in the U.S. (Newark on August 22–23, then Las Vegas and Los Angeles), followed by Paris.

He is also running his G-Dragon Media Exhibition: Ubermensch,” which visually presents the message of his third full album through digital media art. The exhibition has already been shown in Seoul, Tokyo, and Taiwan, and will move to Hong Kong until September 7 and Osaka from August 30 to September 15.
