Girls’ Generation’s Yuri recently had a scary but unforgettable moment while horseback riding in Jeju Island — and she’s now telling fans exactly what happened.
On August 11, Yuri uploaded a vlog to her YouTube channel titled Are you okay? The horse got scared?! | Horse riding in Jeju, showing her enjoying a horseback riding trip.
Sharing why she enjoys the sport, Yuri said,

“Horseback riding is a great workout and also good for mental health. People with disabilities can also try it and even see improvements. After School’s Kahi, Jeon Hye Bin, and Hwang Shin Hye all enjoy horseback riding. They once invited me to join, and I found it fun and fascinating. It’s been almost 10 years since then.”
After bonding with the horse during training, Yuri headed out for an outdoor ride with her coach. Riding a horse named Songi, she admired the scenery and said,
“Thank you… The course is really nice.”

However, during the ride, Yuri suddenly lost her balance, let out a short scream, and fell from the horse.
Reassuring viewers afterward, she said,
“I’m okay. This is my first fall. I stepped wrong into a deep spot, and I couldn’t hold on tightly because I got scared. I’m fine. I fell on my back and then hit my head, but I landed well. Without realizing it, I got frightened and let go of the reins. I’m still a bit stunned.”

She also expressed concern for Songi, adding,
“Why did the ending turn out like this? I should have held the reins tighter.”
Reflecting on the experience, Yuri shared,

“I think I’ve become closer to the horse. Even though I was thrown off, I learned more about horses. Today was a day in Jeju, a place I love, where I ran with a Hallama horse, felt nature, and relieved my stress.”
She even compared the powerful ride to a luxury sports car, saying,
“I was riding comfortably and easily, but I could feel the horse giving me power. It was truly amazing — it felt like riding a Ferrari. I think horseback riding is such a fantastic sport because you can connect with an animal.”
Fans have been sending her messages of relief and admiration, praising her for her calm and positive attitude after the fall.
