Ha Sung Woon has opened up about the real reason why a Wanna One reunion might not happen anytime soon.
On July 29, Ha Sung Woon joined INFINITE’s Nam Woo Hyun on the YouTube channel Neighborhood Star K.
During the episode, the former Wanna One member got real about idol life, line distribution struggles, and why a group reunion isn’t looking likely.
When the host brought up how newer idols seem “milder” than second-generation groups, Ha Sung Woon honestly replied, “It wasn’t just mild. There were times we had no flavor at all.”

He then reacted to the line distribution chart for Wanna One’s Light On, recalling a painful memory, “I didn’t get the main vocal part—it was just a vague line."
He added, "I practiced so much, but it felt like it didn’t matter. I even called about it. The person I talked to was hurt by it, but they still changed the part for me.”
Later, Jonathan asked for an update on a possible Wanna One reunion, with Nam Woo Hyun joining in and saying, “Just tell us how many steps out of 10 you’ve taken.”

Ha Sung Woon didn’t sugarcoat his answer, “To be honest, I don’t think we’ve even taken one step.”
He explained that every time they try to plan something, military enlistments get in the way. “When one finishes service, another one enlists again,” he said.
But that’s not the only issue. Some of the members have now moved on to acting careers. “They’re not focused on this side anymore. And they’re doing really well. So they don’t feel the need to come back here,” he added.
While fans continue to hope for a reunion, it seems like the timing—and the different paths the members are now on—make it a real challenge.
