Actor Ahn Jae Hyun opened up about his honest feelings of loneliness and change during a heart-to-heart moment on TV, marking the first time in 5 years he's talked openly about life after his divorce.

On the July 4 episode of KBS2’s “Ganeunjung Oneunjung Lee Min Jung” (also known as Gaojung), the second part of a special with the Squid Game Season 3 cast aired, featuring actors Yang Dong Geun, Wi Ha Joon, and Park Gyu Young. The group spent a fun-filled 2-day, 1-night trip together, full of laughter, games, and meaningful conversations.

After dinner, the cast shared drinks and reflected on the day.

Actress Lee Min Jung said,

“Today was seriously so much fun,”
while Yang Dong Geun added,
“We made unforgettable memories today.”

It was during this warm moment that Ahn Jae Hyun let down his guard and got real:

“When you’re working, you still meet people and stay active. But suddenly, all my friends started having kids. Their kids are already in elementary school. And now, it feels awkward to even ask them to hang out.”

He continued,

“When I finally get a weekend off, I feel like, ‘Wow, this is a golden weekend.’ But my friends already have families… They’ve got family dinners and plans.
That makes me feel really lonely these days. And… a little jealous too.”

Trying to lighten the mood, Boom joked,

“Then just get married again and try that life,”
and when Ahn Jae Hyun replied with a surprised,
“Kids?”
Boom said,
“Of course. And hey, you already overcame the pain once.”

Ahn Jae Hyun then smiled and firmly said,

“I don’t have any pain anymore,”
which made everyone laugh — showing how far he’s come.

Boom then pitched a fun new idea to the group:

“This show is called Oneunjung (Coming Affection), right? Let’s do a blind date project called Went Through It Affection, where each of us introduces someone to Jae Hyun.”
The suggestion got everyone’s attention — and laughs.

Ahn Jae Hyun played along excitedly, asking,

“So I get to go on blind dates every time we visit a new region?”
Boom quickly teased,
“You’re making this all about you!”
leaving the group in stitches.

This rare emotional moment from Ahn Jae Hyun gave fans a touching glimpse into his personal life, five years after his very public divorce. While he's often seen smiling onscreen, it's clear that he still feels the weight of change, watching life move on around him.

But with support from his castmates — and maybe a few blind dates coming soon — fans are hoping this marks a new beginning for the actor.
