Jessi is finally making her return to the Korean music scene after months of silence following a major controversy — and fans are buzzing over her emotional teaser for her new track “Newsflash.”

On June 23, Jessi surprised everyone by posting a dramatic moving teaser on her official social media and YouTube channel. The short video featured an old-fashioned TV screen flashing a red banner with the word “Newsflash”, creating a sense of urgency like breaking news.

Right after, Jessi’s name and the date June 27, 2025 appeared — strongly hinting that her new song will be released on that day.

The retro style and serious news concept of the teaser caught the attention of fans and the public. Even though it was short, the intense vibe of “Newsflash” raised excitement for what kind of message and music Jessi will deliver this time.

According to her team, more teasers and content related to her comeback will be released little by little, keeping the anticipation high.

This will be Jessi’s first domestic comeback since October 2024, when she faced harsh public criticism after being involved in a fan assault case. At the time, Jessi was accused of standing by when someone from her group allegedly assaulted a fan. She was investigated by the Seoul Gangnam Police as a suspect.

At first, Jessi denied knowing the attacker, but it was later revealed that she had a past connection with one of them, a person named Koala. After the truth came out, many people criticized her. Jessi later issued an apology, saying, “I wish I could go back to that time.” Her agency DOD Entertainment also canceled her contract.

Eventually, the police cleared Jessi of charges such as helping the suspect or trying to cover up the case. After that, she continued performing overseas but stayed away from Korean stages — until now.

With “Newsflash” just around the corner, fans are wondering if Jessi will address her past in her music or start fresh with a bold new message.
