Rapper Koala has personally apologized after being accused of assaulting a fan of singer Jessi.

On June 4, Koala shared a handwritten apology, saying, "I wanted to visit and apologize to the victim in person, but I understand fully that they do not want to meet me. They had no reason to go through what happened, and I sincerely reflect on the pain I caused. I also apologize to everyone who was hurt by this, directly or indirectly."

He continued, "This is clearly my responsibility. I was not the first to use violence, but he was part of our group. Because of a simple misunderstanding and a wrong choice, I made the situation much worse." Koala added, "Facing this has been very hard, but it made me reflect on myself and grow. I am seriously working to become a better person."

The incident happened last August when a fan approached Jessi late at night in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, asking for a photo. The fan was then assaulted by a man near Jessi. Jessi stopped the fight and left the scene. Police arrived and questioned Jessi’s group, but they said they did not know who the attacker was.

Later, CCTV footage showed Koala punching the fan in the stomach and pushing their head forward, which caused more controversy.

After a police investigation, Jessi was cleared of hiding the attacker. However, Koala was sent to prosecution on assault charges.
