• BIBI confesses she had to get surgery after filming — the reason will make you gasp

Singer BIBI shocked fans with her intense dedication on the May 14th episode of MBC’s Radio Star, where she revealed that she had to undergo vein surgery after filming in extreme cold while wearing a thin outfit.

The popular variety show welcomed BIBI, Noh Sa Yeon, Hyun Young, and Charles Enter as guests. According to Nielsen Korea, episode 914 grabbed a 3.5% nationwide viewership, peaking at 4.7%, and ranked No. 1 in key demographics — proving just how much viewers were hooked, especially by BIBI’s shocking confession.

During the episode, BIBI opened up about filming a running scene for 12 hours straight in -15°C weather while wearing just a thin dress. The result? She later needed vein surgery due to the severe aftereffects. Her story stunned viewers and showed just how far she’s willing to go for her work.

BIBI also shared a funny moment about a wardrobe malfunction during her performance at Waterbomb. “I had taped everything under my swimsuit, but the strap came loose during the show. Thankfully, the tape held everything together,” she said, making everyone laugh.

Now more recognized than ever, BIBI shared how her image has changed thanks to her viral hit Bam Yang Gang. “Before this song, I made mostly 19+ rated kitschy music, so not many people knew me. But after Radio Star, even elementary school kids recognize me,” she said with a smile.

She also talked about the song’s composer, Jang Ki Ha, saying, “He wrote the song, so the copyright goes to him. I even called to thank him.”

The singer, whose real name is Kim Hyung Seo, also revealed she’s preparing for a summer concert and dreaming big. “Someday, I want to fly my staff on a private jet,” she said. On top of that, she’ll be showing her acting skills in the upcoming drama The Fiery Priest 2, where she’s filming action scenes with Kim Nam Gil.

Meanwhile, legendary singer Noh Sa Yeon shared her own health struggles. She revealed she once had facial nerve surgery after symptoms appeared during a past Radio Star taping. “I’m fine now,” she assured everyone. She also shared stories from her strict senior days in the industry and her sweet friendship with IU, saying, “IU sends me meat every holiday — I eat it all myself!”

Hyun Young opened up about being a “Gangnam mom” cheering on her daughter, who is a swimmer. She also spoke about her booming cosmetics business and said she’s studying stocks, real estate, and crypto. “I love learning,” she said.

YouTuber Charles Enter (real name Kim Chan Mi) also joined the episode, revealing she got her stage name from a misheard version of “Angela.” With nearly 800,000 subscribers, she shared behind-the-scenes stories from her Monthly Date series and how she’s dealing with the sudden rise in popularity. Even BIBI said, “I’ve been a fan of Charles Enter for a long time.”

With personal stories, laughs, and emotional moments, the latest Radio Star episode gave fans an unforgettable night.

Next week’s Radio Star episode, airing on May 21, will feature Baek Ji Yeon, Hong Hyun Hee, Choi Jung Hoon of Jannabi, and Min Kyung Ah in the special “Final Boss” edition.
