Kim Jaejoong proves he's a son like no other with a special surprise for his mother that’s sure to melt hearts!
On the upcoming KBS 2TV special "Shinsang Chulsi Pyeon Restaurant" (also known as Pyeon Restaurant) airing on January 31, Kim Jaejoong goes all out to celebrate his mother’s birthday, even though he couldn’t be there in person.
His thoughtful gesture, including a heartfelt handwritten letter, will have everyone in awe of his deep love and respect for his mom.
In the touching VCR segment, Kim Jaejoong calls his mother to let her know he sent a birthday gift. “I sent you a birthday gift, it’s arrived. Please check it out,” he says over the phone. Since he couldn’t attend the family gathering due to his overseas tour, he prepared something extra special.
When his mother opens the large box, she wonders, “Could it be flowers?” But instead of flowers, there’s her son, Kim Jaejoong, standing inside with a ribbon—his love shining through as the true gift. His mother can’t hide her happiness and exclaims, “Have you ever seen such beautiful flowers?”
But that wasn’t the end of the surprises! After preparing a meal for his mother, Kim Jaejoong brings out a heartfelt letter. In it, he expresses his deep emotions and gratitude, saying, “Mother, you are great,” acknowledging the strength and sacrifices she made raising nine children. He continues, “I wish I could be the perfect son and ease your burdens, but…” and ends with a touching, “Please live comfortably now. I love you.” His mother, overcome with emotion, hugs him tightly, saying, “When did my son grow up like this?” She doesn’t say much more, but tears stream down her face.
The episode also features Kim Jaejoong’s impressive flower arrangement skills—he spent three years learning the craft just for his mom. He creates a beautiful flower wreath as a gift, but in an unexpected twist, his mother gently rejects it, causing a funny moment that adds a sweet touch to the heartfelt surprise.
