• Lee Sang Yoon Reveals How His Seoul National University Physics Degree Became 'A Flaw' in Acting, Shares Why He Would Be a Doctor in Another Life

Actor Lee Sang Yoon opened up about his unexpected journey from being a physics major at Seoul National University to becoming an actor, sharing some hilarious and insightful moments along the way.

On the January 20 broadcast of KBS Cool FM's Park Myung Soo's Radio Show, Lee Sang Yoon joined veteran actor Park Geun Hyung to promote their play Death of a Salesman.

During the show, Lee Sang Yoon recalled a surprising comment from Park Geun Hyung, who called his impressive academic background "a flaw." Park explained, "A degree from Seoul National University doesn’t mean much here. If you’re going to do theater, it’s better to major in theater."

Laughing off the remark, Lee Sang Yoon shared, "If I could be reborn, I think I’d want to become a doctor." This prompted a playful response from Park Myung Soo, who said, "With your looks, if you became a doctor, you’d end up in plastic surgery. You’d dominate the field—it would be chaos!"

When asked why he made the leap into acting, Lee Sang Yoon revealed, "I got the chance to try acting by coincidence. I was curious, and people around me suggested it would help me overcome my shyness."

He added, "At first, it was just an experience to develop myself, but I started enjoying it. Even though I used to struggle with being in front of others, I found this strange sense of joy that kept me going. That feeling has stayed with me until now."

Lee Sang Yoon continues to capture hearts with his talent and charm, proving that even a "flaw" like a Seoul National University degree can't stand in the way of pursuing his dreams. Fans are now even more curious to see his performance in Death of a Salesman.
