Jung Hae In shared a memorable story about his mother’s emotional reaction to one of his dramas, explaining why watching his own projects with her can sometimes be difficult.
The actor appeared on episode 152 of TEO’s web variety show Salon Drip, released on August 11, where he spoke about his mother’s viewing habits and the kinds of stories she prefers.
When host Jang Do Yeon asked which of his projects his mother likes the most, Jung Hae In explained that she prefers happy endings and does not enjoy stories that are too intense.
He then recalled her reaction to Snowdrop, saying, “She likes happy endings. She doesn’t really like anything too intense. When she watched Snowdrop, I wasn’t actually dead, but she cried as if I had really died. I was sitting next to her, and I just couldn’t stay there.”
Jang Do Yeon then jokingly brought up Son Ye Jin, who played Jung Hae In’s romantic partner in the drama Something in the Rain. She asked whether his mother had been fine when Son Ye Jin married Hyun Bin, joking that someone deeply immersed in the drama might wonder what had happened to the on screen couple.
Jung Hae In laughed and replied, “That was something to really celebrate.”
The conversation later moved to running. Jung Hae In shared that he sometimes runs with other people, but also goes alone when their schedules do not match.
Jang Do Yeon joked that she often looks closely at people running along the Han River because so many celebrities talk about exercising there, saying, “I always wonder, ‘Is that a celebrity?’ I feel like I should run into one at least once.”
Jung Hae In’s story about his mother especially drew attention for showing how deeply she becomes immersed in his acting, particularly during emotional scenes in Snowdrop.
