• Kim Tae Ri and "Jeongnyeoni" Take Over the Buzz Rankings with Record-Breaking Views

tvN's Jeongnyeoni is taking the world by storm, crossing over 300 million total video views and dominating the rankings with its incredible popularity.

According to data from KinoLites, an OTT content search platform, Jeongnyeoni topped the integrated content ranking for the week of October 28 to November 3, outshining all other dramas and films released domestically. In addition, Jeongnyeoni claimed the top spot for four weeks straight in Good Data Corporation’s TV-OTT drama buzzworthiness survey for the week of October 28.

Kim Tae Ri, who stars as the lead character Yoon Jeongnyeon, has also dominated the buzzworthiness rankings, holding the #1 spot for four consecutive weeks. Other cast members, like Shin Ye Eun (#3), Jeong Eun Chae (#4), Woo Da Bi (#6), and Kim Yoon Hye (#7), have all placed in the Top 7, making Jeongnyeoni the series with five actors in the top rankings.

Online, the drama’s popularity is overwhelming. Since its premiere, Jeongnyeoni has consistently ranked #1 in YouTube views among domestic dramas. As of November 4, its related video views have surpassed 300 million. A big part of this success comes from the viral Gukgeuk stage performances and behind-the-scenes content, which has garnered over 10 million views on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and more.

Gukgeuk, the genre featured in the drama, has also sparked significant interest. Mentions of Gukgeuk on social media and online communities grew from about 600 in September to over 3,000 in October, showing a fivefold increase in just one month.

With Jeongnyeoni heading toward its intense climax, viewers are eagerly awaiting the next developments. In episode 8, Jeongnyeon, who moved to Seoul to chase her dream of becoming a Gukgeuk actor, faces a life-changing challenge. After falling into a trap set by Seo Hye Rang (played by Kim Yoon Hye), she undergoes extreme vocal training that leaves her voice damaged. This intense moment, where she collapses during an audition after coughing up blood, has left fans on the edge of their seats, waiting to see what happens next.

  • Chun Jung Myung’s Manager Now Serving Time After Stealing Billions, Source Reveals

Actor Chun Jung Myung has opened up about a devastating betrayal by his former manager, who swindled tens of billions of won from his family. The former manager, who had been trusted like family, is now serving prison time for his actions.

In the December 8 episode of SBS’s My Little Old Boy, Chun Jung Myung shared the shocking details of his financial fraud ordeal with fellow cast members Lee Sang Min and Kim Heechul.

He explained, "I was financially defrauded by the manager I had worked with for 16 years since my debut. He forged documents to steal money and even caused huge financial losses for my parents."

A close source confirmed on December 9, "The manager mentioned on the show ultimately couldn’t repay the damages and is now serving his prison sentence for fraud."

The source also revealed that Chun Jung Myung suffered losses in the tens of billions of won. The emotional toll was severe, leading to social anxiety, and he even considered retiring from the entertainment industry due to the devastating betrayal.

Chun Jung Myung debuted in 1999 with the drama School 2 and became a household name with roles in Beijing, My Love, Fashion 70s, and What's Up Fox? However, after his role in the 2019 drama Urban Cops: KCSI, he suddenly disappeared from the spotlight, sparking concerns from fans.

An entertainment agency CEO weighed in, saying, "Celebrities, especially those with limited real-world experience, are vulnerable to scams because of their public status. Some get trapped and lose vast amounts of money after being used as figureheads."

An entertainment law expert added, "Fraud cases are tricky because proving the intent to steal is difficult. If someone makes an enticing offer, always ask, ‘Why me and not them?’ Skepticism is key."
