• Jang Nara Praises Ji Seung Hyun's Performance as a Cheater in 'Good Partner': "His Lines Were Irritating"

Jang Nara, the lead star of Good Partner, shared her admiration for Ji Seung Hyun's incredible portrayal of a cheating husband in the drama. In a recent interview with Star News on September 23rd, Jang Nara reflected on the success of the SBS courtroom drama and the intense performances from her co-stars.

Good Partner follows Cha Eun Kyung (played by Jang Nara), a top divorce lawyer, and Han Yuri (Nam Ji Hyun), a rookie attorney handling her first big divorce case. The drama, which aired its final episode recently, started strong with a 7.8% viewership rating and peaked at 17.7%.

Ji Seung Hyun's character, Kim Ji Sang, sparked a lot of anger from viewers with his affair and deceitful behavior toward Cha Eun Kyung. Jang Nara was equally impressed by his performance, saying, "Ji Seung Hyun didn’t just play the role well, he brought the character to life in a way that shocked me. I remember thinking, 'How does he pull this off?' His acting was so convincing, especially with that beautiful voice of his."

She went on to explain how certain lines from his character left a lasting impression, sharing, "There was a line where Kim Ji Sang said, 'Did you put a CCTV here or something?' Even when the staff read his lines during rehearsals, it was humiliating to hear. His character was the type to say the most infuriating things even when he was in the wrong."

Jang Nara also spoke about how both Ji Seung Hyun and Kwak Si Yang, who played another villain in the drama, humorously apologized to viewers for their roles. "Ji Seung Hyun’s character is someone you’d never want to meet in real life. He played him so hatefully well. By the time he said, 'What about General Yang Kyu?' I already disliked him," she laughed.

Jang Nara added that despite the heavy and intense subject matter of the drama, the cast had great chemistry on set. "The conflicts and divorces in the show are explosive, but behind the scenes, we all got along really well. We needed those moments of lightness to balance out the intensity of the storyline."

Reflecting on her own character, Cha Eun Kyung, known for her sharp tongue and no-nonsense attitude, Jang Nara admitted there were times when it felt good to say her lines. "There’s a scene where a father who doesn’t help with his twins just complains and wants to drink. When Cha Eun Kyung snaps back, 'So, they’re not your kids?' it felt really satisfying," she shared.

However, Jang Nara also noted that a person like Cha Eun Kyung would be overwhelming in real life, joking, "If someone like her existed in reality, they might be a bit too much to handle."

Fans of Good Partner were captivated not just by the intense storyline but by the stellar performances of the cast, and Jang Nara’s heartfelt reflections show just how much work went into bringing these characters to life.

  • Rhymer shares funny story about his screen time beating Kim Woo Bin’s on 'Handsome Guys' and how his parents reacted

Producer Rhymer had a funny and proud moment on TV when he revealed that he got more screen time than actor Kim Woo Bin — and his parents couldn’t be happier.

On the May 1st episode of tvN’s variety show Handsome Guys (episode 21), cast members Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Dong Hyun, Lee Yi Kyung, and Shin Seung Ho were joined by guest Rhymer, filling in for Oh Sang Wook, who was away for the Fencing Sabre World Cup.

The team took on the challenge of suggesting lunch and dinner menus for hardworking office workers.

This wasn’t Rhymer’s first appearance on the show. He had previously joined a special episode focused on people born in the Year of the Snake, where he stood out with his unique and quirky charm.

During the episode, Cha Tae Hyun brought up how Rhymer’s screen time had felt a bit short the last time he appeared.

But Lee Yi Kyung jumped in, saying, “It seemed like you were on a lot,” and Rhymer agreed, adding a proud moment from home.

He said, “It ended up being longer than I expected. My parents even said, ‘You were on longer than Kim Woo Bin,’ and they were really happy about it.”

Rhymer’s lighthearted story had everyone laughing, showing how even the smallest moments on screen can be a big deal for proud parents.
