• Actress Jeon Do Yeon Opens Up About Working with "Rude" Younger Actors: "They’re not completely absent"

Actress Jeon Do Yeon shared her thoughts about her junior colleagues.

On August 4th, the YouTube channel "Fairy Jaehyung's Fairy Table" posted a video titled "How did you endure those times, Do Yeon?"

During the episode, Jung Jae Hyun mentioned that many junior actors attended the play "Cherry Orchard" in which Jeon Do Yeon performed.

Bae Doona, among others, also came to see the play and gave flowers to Jeon Do Yeon. Other juniors such as Kim Go Eun, Lim Ji Yeon, Cha Eun Woo, and Chun Woo Hee also visited.

Jung Jae Hyun remarked, "More than the promotion, the photos taken by the juniors in the waiting room became a big issue. It made me think that you are an actor they really admire." Jeon Do Yeon responded, "I was very grateful and proud. I thought, 'I've lived my life well, I've survived well, I've endured well.'"

Jung Jae Hyun brought up what Kim Go Eun said about Jeon Do Yeon on "Fairy Table." He said, "When Kim Go Eun appeared, she mentioned that you don’t give advice to juniors first, but instead, you give them more compliments."

Previously, Kim Go Eun had said, "She never once told me, 'You should do it this way.' When I was struggling and asked for advice, she said, 'How about relaxing your breath?' which was a eureka moment for me."

Jeon Do Yeon, seemingly embarrassed, said, "I don't remember well," and continued, "I always say that even though we are seniors and juniors, we are colleagues on set. Even if what they do seems lacking to me, that's my feeling, not theirs. And aren’t they portraying a different character? No one knows the character better than they do. It's about mutual respect."

When Jung Jae Hyun commented, "That’s not an easy thing to do. There might be some rude juniors," Jeon Do Yeon admitted, "That's true. But I can’t really say much. I either watch them or complain behind their backs. I tell them it's okay in person. It happens, right?" making everyone laugh.

Jung Jae Hyun then remarked, "It seems the feelings you have on set as a senior are different from what we know."

Jeon Do Yeon replied, "In fact, when I’m on set, I focus more on the work than on anyone else. Honestly, there aren’t that many rude juniors," then added with a laugh, "But they’re not completely absent." Jung Jae Hyun concluded, "Focusing on your work means you’re a perfectionist," to which Jeon Do Yeon agreed.

  • Lee Jun Young says he felt guilty and cried after acting mean to a grandma in 'Brave Citizen'

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
