SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) has climbed back to the top of Japan's Oricon Album Rankings with their best album, about three months after its release.
On July 27th, Oricon revealed that SEVENTEEN's best album ‘17 IS RIGHT HERE’ sold 25,211 copies in a day, making it No. 1 on the daily album ranking.
‘17 IS RIGHT HERE,’ the only K-pop album to become a 'Triple Million Seller' this year, dominated the major Oricon album rankings when it came out on April 29th. The album also hit 2nd place on Billboard Japan’s ‘2024 First Half Chart,’ the highest spot for a K-pop artist.
SEVENTEEN's constant popularity hints at their busy schedule for the rest of the year. Starting in October, they will kick off their 'SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR,' visiting places in Asia, including Korea and Japan, and the United States. In September, they will headline ‘Lollapalooza Berlin’ in Germany.
SEVENTEEN's rising fame was also clear at their recent fan meeting. The online live stream of the 2024 SVT 8TH FAN MEETING 'SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND,' held at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome on July 23-24, was watched by fans from 118 countries and regions.
From April to May, SEVENTEEN performed eight shows of the ‘SEVENTEEN TOUR ‘FOLLOW’ AGAIN’ at large stadiums in Korea and Japan, drawing a total audience of 380,000. In June, they became the first K-pop artist to perform on the main stage at the UK's ‘Glastonbury Festival,’ receiving high praise from local media.
