• Choi Yena Shares Miracle Recovery from Ski Accident on 'Radio Star'

Choi Yena revealed a heart-touching story on the latest episode of 'Radio Star', aired on the 12th, about overcoming a serious ski accident with the support of her mother's unwavering love.

During the episode of MBC's 'Radio Star', guests including Choi Kang Hee, Lee Sang Yeob, Choi Hyun Woo, Gwaydo, and Choi Yena discussed various topics, including Choi Yena's life-changing experience.

Recalling the incident, Choi Yena explained, "When I was in 5th grade, I went skiing for the first time with my brother. We ended up on an advanced course unexpectedly. Before I knew it, I lost consciousness and woke up in a hospital."

Doctors diagnosed her with a torn cruciate ligament and severe leg injuries, warning that she might never walk again despite rehabilitation efforts.

"My mother refused to accept this prognosis," Choi Yena continued. "She sought unconventional methods, even consulting a shaman who initially gave grim predictions. Undeterred, my mother persisted, taking me to a bathhouse three times a week. She would challenge me to swim out of the deep end on my own, which gradually helped me regain movement in my legs. Doctors were astonished by my progress and sought to learn from my mother's unconventional approach."

Moved by her family's sacrifices during her recovery, Choi Yena shared, "My parents faced financial hardships due to my medical bills. They sold kimbap at subway stations just to get by, and we didn't have a stable home. Now, I'm grateful to be in a position where I can support them, even buying them a house."

Choi Yena's story resonated deeply with the audience, earning her applause and admiration for her perseverance and her mother's unwavering belief in her recovery.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.
