Stray Kids has made history by becoming the first K-pop artist to headline Brazil’s legendary music festival Rock in Rio.
The group performed as a headliner at the festival’s main stage, Palco Mundo, in Rio de Janeiro, attracting around 100,000 attendees who gathered to watch their highly anticipated performance.
During the historic set, Stray Kids showcased their powerful performances, unique music style, and strong stage presence while performing their popular songs. The members also connected with local fans through special moments, including adding Brazilian-inspired elements to their stage.
The group’s Rock in Rio debut received attention from international media, with Billboard highlighting their achievement as the first K-pop act to take on the festival’s headliner position.
Billboard praised Stray Kids for delivering a memorable performance, describing their appearance as a historic moment for K-pop at Rock in Rio and noting their strong connection with South American fans.
The performance also featured impressive stage production, including fireworks and lighting effects. Stray Kids further entertained the crowd by incorporating samba-inspired moves during Chk Chk Boom and performing a song by a local artist without backing music.
Following their successful Rock in Rio appearance, Stray Kids continues their South American activities through their own festival project STRAYCITY, which includes upcoming events in Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico.
