ENHYPEN member Jay has reportedly experienced serious privacy violations and repeated unwanted contact, prompting his agency, BELIFT LAB, to file a criminal complaint against the person allegedly responsible.

On November 3, BELIFT LAB released an official statement through the global fan platform Weverse, announcing that it had taken legal action over alleged stalking, unauthorized call recordings, and the distribution of private conversations.

“We recently confirmed that ENHYPEN member Jay was subjected to serious invasions of privacy and stalking. We have filed a criminal complaint against the person responsible,” the agency stated.

According to BELIFT LAB, the situation began in June when an individual repeatedly attempted to contact Jay through his private phone number.

During the first call, the person allegedly claimed to be an employee of an internet and television installation service center. The caller reportedly mentioned Jay's family and pretended to offer information about a service.

The agency explained that the individual also asked when Jay would be available for another call and left a contact number, allegedly attempting to obtain additional personal information under false pretenses.

After Jay checked directly with his family, he discovered that the caller's claims were false, according to the statement.

Despite receiving no response from Jay afterward, the individual allegedly continued trying to contact him.

BELIFT LAB further claimed that the person recorded their phone conversation without authorization and distributed the recording through several online platforms, including KakaoTalk, Instagram, and X Spaces.

The agency also alleged that the individual later attempted to avoid responsibility by claiming the conversation was work-related or that their account had been hacked.

Addressing the seriousness of the situation, BELIFT LAB stated, “We consider this a serious matter that goes beyond an invasion of the artist's privacy, as there are concerns about additional harm resulting from the exposure of personal information.”

The company explained that it decided to file a criminal complaint after reviewing the alleged repeated contact, use of false information, and recording and distribution of the private conversation.

BELIFT LAB also revealed that it had sent official requests to South Korea's three major telecommunications companies, seeking cooperation in identifying the individual involved.

The agency emphasized that it intends to take a firm approach toward actions that threaten its artists' privacy and safety.

“BELIFT LAB will respond strongly under a zero-tolerance policy to stalking and the illegal disclosure of personal information that violate our artists' privacy and threaten their safety, without settlements or leniency,” the company stated.

BELIFT LAB also thanked fans who provided information related to the case, saying their reports had been helpful in pursuing legal action.

The agency encouraged fans to continue submitting relevant information through its official artist rights protection channel.

While BELIFT LAB has confirmed filing a criminal complaint, the allegations remain subject to investigation, and no final legal ruling was announced in the statement.
