Comedian Lee Soo Geun has opened up about Lee Seung Gi's incredible popularity during his early years on "2 Days & 1 Night", revealing that the singer and actor was once so successful that he seemed like an entire company on his own.
On October 27, Lee Seung Gi uploaded a new video to his YouTube channel, *Lee Seung Gi 2*, featuring a conversation with his former *2 Days & 1 Night* co-star Lee Soo Geun.
During their discussion, Lee Soo Geun recalled how busy and popular Lee Seung Gi was while appearing on the hit KBS2 variety show.
*"Back then, apart from releasing albums, you practically only did '2 Days & 1 Night.' You were like a company. Lee Seung Gi Incorporated. You were basically an entire business,"* Lee Soo Geun joked.
He also remembered how Lee Seung Gi became one of Korea's most beloved young celebrities, earning the nickname *"Nation's Little Brother."*
*"You were really incredible back then,"* he added, emphasizing just how much attention Lee Seung Gi received at the height of his popularity.
Hearing the compliments, Lee Seung Gi responded with a laugh.
*"Talking about it like this makes it sound like I'm not popular at all these days,"* he joked.
The conversation then turned to their memories of working together on *2 Days & 1 Night*.
Lee Seung Gi mentioned that he remembered the cast rarely gathering for company dinners or drinks outside filming.
However, Lee Soo Geun immediately disagreed.
*"We actually had a lot of gatherings. You just didn't come. The ones who usually didn't show up were you and Eun Ji Won,"* he said.
Lee Soo Geun then explained that the cast understood how demanding Lee Seung Gi's schedule was at the time.
*"Honestly, we couldn't really call you. You were doing music shows back then, and even Ho Dong always said, 'Let's protect Seung Gi,'"* he recalled, referring to Kang Ho Dong.
He jokingly added that Kang Ho Dong would probably have saved Lee Seung Gi first if both of them had fallen into the water.
*"Looking back, if we had fallen into the water, who would Ho Dong have saved? He definitely would have saved Seung Gi first. These days, though, I think he might at least make an effort to save me too,"* Lee Soo Geun joked.
The conversation also touched on Lee Seung Gi's recent activities as a YouTube creator.
Lee Soo Geun encouraged him to try showing a different side of himself, suggesting that viewers might enjoy seeing a more unexpected and relaxed version of the entertainer.
*"There are already so many people who like you, so I think this could work well. It might be really fun to show something people wouldn't normally expect from you,"* he advised.
Lee Seung Gi explained that his previous television programs, including *2 Days & 1 Night*, had been particularly careful about how their cast members were presented.
The exchange offered a nostalgic look at Lee Seung Gi's early career, when his popularity as a singer and television personality made him one of the most recognizable entertainers in South Korea.
Lee Soo Geun's memories also highlighted how much the *2 Days & 1 Night* cast supported Lee Seung Gi during one of the busiest periods of his career.
