GOT7’s Youngjae marked his birthday with a meaningful donation while continuing his mandatory military service.
On September 17, Youngjae donated 10 million won to the Rainbow Shelter operated by animal protection organization Korean Dogs. The donation will be used to support abandoned dogs currently being cared for at the shelter.
According to his agency, Youngjae chose to make the donation as a meaningful way to celebrate his birthday.
His support for abandoned animals follows a particularly personal loss. Youngjae previously said goodbye to his beloved dog Coco, who had been with him for many years.
At the end of last year, Youngjae donated 30 million won to the same Rainbow Shelter in Coco’s name. He also personally visited the shelter, where he helped clean kennels and participated in volunteer work.
Youngjae has frequently shown his affection for Coco over the years, making his continued support for abandoned animals especially meaningful to fans familiar with their bond.
Despite currently fulfilling his mandatory service as a social service worker, Youngjae has continued his charitable efforts, bringing his recent donations to the shelter to a combined 40 million won.
Youngjae is currently completing his mandatory military service as a social service worker.
