Cha Tae Hyun has opened up about the challenges of running Basecamp Company with fellow actor Jo In Sung, revealing that the agency currently has no plans to expand its small roster.

During a phone conversation featured on the YouTube channel VIVO TV on September 9, Cha Tae Hyun spoke about managing the company while keeping up with his own busy acting and entertainment schedule.

Basecamp Company is co-led by Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung and currently represents just four actors: Cha Tae Hyun, Jo In Sung, Jin Ki Joo, and Lim Ju Hwan.

Speaking about the agency's current situation, Cha Tae Hyun explained, “We can't hire more people because we don't have enough staff. For now, we aren't thinking about increasing the number of actors. There are exactly four of us: Jo In Sung, Jin Ki Joo, Lim Ju Hwan, and me.”

He added that the agency is also operating with a relatively small management team.

“We also have four managers, including the CEO. Usually, all four actors aren't working at the same time, but this time everyone happened to be working at once. So either one of the representatives has to go or we have to hire temporary help.”

The conversation became more playful when Kim Sook asked what Cha Tae Hyun would do if BLACKPINK's Jennie became a free agent and personally said, “I want to sign with Basecamp Company.”

Cha Tae Hyun quickly responded, “Just imagining it makes me happy,” drawing laughter from the others.

Despite the challenges of running an entertainment agency, Cha Tae Hyun said becoming a company representative has changed the way he approaches his own career.

When Song Eun Yi asked whether becoming a representative made him more willing to accept work, Cha Tae Hyun replied, “Absolutely.”

He continued, “I've changed my mindset. Even things I wouldn't have done in the past, I now think of them as new challenges and give them a try.”

Cha Tae Hyun currently has several projects keeping him busy. He is preparing for the release of Your Personal Taxi and is also filming Moving 2 and Netflix's upcoming family action comedy film Two Cops and Five Kids. He is also taking part in the filming of SBS's The Ballad of Us Season 2.

His comments offered a lighthearted look at the realities of running a small entertainment agency, with Cha Tae Hyun admitting that managing the company becomes especially difficult when all four of its actors are working at the same time.
